Clinical Research Psychiatric Rater
The Rater conducts structured interviews before and during a clinical trial to determine efficacy of an investigational product. The Rater works with participants across multiple therapeutic areas including but not limited to bipolar, schizophrenia, major depressive and PTSD. This role is responsible for the organization, administration and efficient execution of scales associated with clinical trials and will complete all responsibilities under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Site Director. In executing these responsibilities, the Rater is guided by FDA regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), relevant work practices, and company standard operating procedures
 
Responsibilities:

  • Reviews with Principal Investigator and Site Director, any components of the study for which additional information or clarification are required prior to the initiation of the study

  • Obtains detailed knowledge of all components of a study protocol relevant to completion of rating scales through review and analysis of study information with Principal Investigator and Site Director prior to the effective date of the study

  • Assist in recruitment efforts as directed 

  • Perform study activities as delegated by the Principal Investigator and under the supervision of the Site Director

  • Ensure all rating assessment are conducted in adherence to the protocols

·         Maintains accurate and confidential documentation of study participants

  • Responsible for aspects of the study related to ratings with the rater training representative, study sponsor, Site Director, and Principal Investigator to ensure compliance with protocol requirements

Education and experience

  • Master’s Degree required (Psychology or related field), RN w/a Master's, LCSW, LPC, LMHC, PhD

  • Understands regulatory requirements, as well as Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines

  • Able to communicate with providers, co-workers, sponsors, and others in a collaborative and courteous manner

  • Knowledgeable in medical and/or psychological terminology

  • Demonstrates the initiative to act independently

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal), open to feedback

  • Clinical interviewing and psychiatric diagnostic skills are a must, as well as knowledge of DSM.

  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Basic computer skills to include Word and Excel
