Your support helps fund the mission of Saline County Safe Haven.
At Saline County Safe Haven, we provide safe shelter, advocacy, and critical support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in our community. As the need for services continues to grow, community support is essential to ensuring our doors remain open to those who need safety most.
Last year alone, we provided 4,107 bed nights, supported 533 survivors, and answered countless crisis calls from individuals seeking safety and hope. In shelter, we served 46 adults and 29 children. As for our outreach program, we served 228 adults and 230 children.
Recently, we experienced a loss in VOCA funding, creating a gap in resources at a time when the demand for services continues to rise. Community support is essential in ensuring survivors have continued access to safe shelter and vital resources.
Survivor Testimonials
“With the loving support of the advocates and the community surrounding the shelter, I was able to leave an abusive relationship at 5 months pregnant with a 15-month-old. Safe Haven provided me with a safe, comforting place to stay, helped me prepare for my second child, and gave us everything we needed when we had to flee with only the clothes on my back and a few of my first child’s belongings in hand. Because of their love, support, and guidance, my children and I are one of their success stories.”
“Safe Haven not only helped me recover from financial abuse, provided me with therapy, and find employment, but they stood by me through all the legal troubles regarding my abuser. They healed me. The staff is unmatched. I love them forever for what they’ve done!”
